Why is this a problem in modern fandom

• Scangst content oversaturates the angst tag on tf2 ao3, and most likely on every other website as well
• Sometimes people are so determined to create Scangst content, they will ruthlessly flanderise and mischaracterise every single character, including Scout himself, to make the situation (Sc)angstier
• The Scangst Fixation gets to the point where people completely overshadow any other angst in the entire canon.

"Scout was dead for two minutes thats sooo sad" Scout died happy (under the impression Tom Jones was his father), was told he was God's gift to women, was immediatley revived with most of his wounds healed and was fine afterwards. Meanwhile, the other mercs:

• Soldier is well aware he was never in the army, and panics at the idea of anyone finding out
• Pyro... God knows whats up with them but it is likely that like Bea they are covered in burn scars from some traumatic experience
• Demo blew up his adoptive parents when he was six, and has a bit of a complex about being a "black scottish cyclops". It is likely these are the main factors contributing to his alcoholism. Other than the fact he can no longer live without alcohol.
• Heavy and his family were imprisoned in a Gulag for months, his father was killed and the family has lived in isolation since the girls were young children. Also, poker night implies Heavy uses his violent persona on the battlefield as something of a coping mechanism, and he gets nightmares.
• Engie seems alright, but that's only because comic 7 won't release. I'm sure he has something, besides the God Complex
• Medic lived in war era Germany, and I sincerely doubt he was a nazi (tf2 lore runs off mostly rule of funny, and Medic being a nazi is not funny thus almost definitely non-canon)
• SNIPER HAS HAD A HORRIBLE TIME THE ENTIRE COMIC RUN IF I ELABOURATE I WILL GO ON FOR HALF THE PAGE.
• Spy's son died in his arms with no idea who he was, and if meet the spy is anything to go by he misses his wife tails he misses her a lot.

Not saying you can't write and enjoy scangst, just please remember the rest of the team sometimes. Especially Heavy and Sniper they have it the worst I think but wHo GiVeS a ShIt WhEn PoOr ScOuTy Is HaTeD... he isn't btw, In expiration date Sniper and Heavy were enjoying the Spy trolling, Spy still helped his son despite the trolling, Demo, Sniper and Pyro contributed to the training montage, and even Soldier was trying to help with adjectives to describe Ms Pauling.
